6. Tetsusaiga, The Phantom Sword

Kagome's time. Kagome's mother is trying to fix her own bike to fit Kagome's size since Kagome took her bike with her to the Sengoku Jidai era. Shows she really cares for her daughter. Her mother tells Souta to help her sister in any way possible and Souta agrees.

Back in the illusion world. Inuyasha's mother's face casts no reflection back on the surface of the pond and she's a fake, but Inuyasha can't see or hear her. Inuyasha's "Mom" places a lily on the surface of the water and tells Inuyasha to look into it and he's surprised to see his child self playing with a ball. The ball bounces over a bridge and he rushes to get it. His mother stands by watching him play, her face is shadowed. Inuyasha drops the ball and runs to her and she embraces him warmly. Inuyasha comments on how this was what he looked like when he was a child. His mother then hugs him like she did when he was a child and Inuyasha starts to go into a daze while his mother starts to absorb him by putting her hands into his back.

Kagome then sees the illusion. She can't move because she's held by chains and they're really not at a beautiful pond, but still where they were to start out with. Myouga appears and realizes Kagome is paralyzed and so he sucks out blood from her neck returning her to her senses out of the illusion she's stuck in. Kagome breaks free of the chains. Jakken goes to the woman who's nearly completely absorbed Inuyasha and calls her "Nothing Woman" and asks if she did what he told her to. She says not yet and Jakken asks her to probe into his soul further to find out the location of his father's grave. Inuyasha says it's starting to hurt him and he doesn't know where the grave is. Suddenly, a black pearl appears and Inuyasha mutters "Right black pearl". The nothing woman doesn't want to probe further because it will break Inuyasha's soul, but Jakken insists on it. Inuyasha, in his dream world, starts to wake from his daze and Kagome appears, smacks Jakken around and then grabs Inuyasha before he's totally absorbed by the Nothing Woman.

Kagome can't catch her since she moves very fast and is still hanging onto Inuyasha and Myouga tells her that the Nothing Woman is made of souls of dead mothers who lost their children during the warm. The Nothing Woman feels love for her children, and love for Inuyasha. In the water's reflection, Kagome sees the illusion of the woman holding a baby Inuyasha and she messes up the water and Inuyasha returns to his senses. He's angry at the betrayal of the Nothing Woman and more so at his older brother, Sesshoumaru.

Sesshoumaru appears, grabs Inuyasha and tells him he solved the riddle to where the grave is. "The right black pearl". He then uses some sort of weird magic and extracts a black pearl from Inuyasha's right eye temporarily leaving Inuyasha half blind. He then attacks Inuyasha with his whip things and right before it hits Inuyasha, the Nothing Woman jumps in front of him protecting Inuyasha from the blow, but being destroyed in the process. The nature of the Nothing Woman is to protect her child and Inuyasha was her child. Using the Staff of Heads from Jakken, Sesshoumaru hits the pearl and it opens a gateway to the grave of Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha's father. Inuyasha sits back in shock and suddenly realizes that Kagome has already started to climb through the portal. He yells for her to wait and jumps in to catch up.

Through the portal they are transported to somewhere far away in a mass of bones and in the middle are the huge bones of Inuyasha's dog demon father, the Tai Inu-youkai. The bones are so huge that they're about the size of a mansion and they ride a bone bird inside of the bones of Inuyasha's father. It's here that they learn what Sesshoumaru was after the legendary sword, Tetsusaiga (it's said "Tess-sigh-ga), made from one of the fangs of Inuyasha's father.

Sesshoumaru attempts to pull the sword from the pedestal, but it repels him and burns his hand with a ward. Sesshoumuaru wonders why he cannot touch it and then Inuyasha appears. Kagome tells him to whoop Sesshoumaru's butt and take the sword, but Inuyasha's more interested in just beating his brother silly instead of even taking notice to the rusty old katana in the pedestal. He attacks, but it's useless since Sesshoumaru is many times faster and stronger, so Inuyasha approaches the sword and Kagome tells him that by taking the sword, he can make his brother jealous. Inuyasha likes that idea so he reaches for the sword and he's not hurt by the barrier at all. Inuyasha tries to pull the sword, but nothing happens. He can't pull the sword out! There must be some mistake! Sesshoumaru races to attack Inuyasha since Inuyasha's obviously not gonna make the task of taking the blade any easier and they duke it out again.

After Kagome kicks Jakken's butt for being annoying, she then races to try to save Inuyasha since he's getting really beat up. Before she can, she reaches the sword and holds on to the hilt to help her stand up. In her haste, she accidentally raises the sword and it comes free of the pedestal! Wow. Anyway, Sesshoumaru stops his attack and turns back in awe at the human girl who pulled the sword. Kagome simply just says, "Sorry... it slipped!" What does this mean? Is Kagome special or something? Will Jakken ever shut his f ugly mouth? All will be revealed in the next episode. (Except the part about Jakken shutting up. He sadly never does that the whole freaking series)
