This episode starts off by recapping what happened in the previous episode. Sesshoumaru takes Inuyashas black pearl out of his right eye, gets to their fathers grave and tries to take the Tetsusaiga. He cant pull it from the ground due to a ward against him, but Inuyasha can pass through the ward, but even Inuyasha cant pull the sword from the ground. Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha start to fight and try to kill one another and Kagome rushes to the sword and manages to pull it from the ground. Anyway, on with the episode. Sesshoumaru stops fighting with Inuyasha and confronts Kagome asking her how she was able to take the Tetsusaiga out of the ground. Inuyasha begs his brother to leave Kagome alone and that shes just a normal Human, but Sesshoumaru disagrees. Inuyasha tells Kagome to hand over the sword to his brother, but Kagome tells him that its Inuyashas sword and she wont give it up. Sesshoumaru ponders this and then asks why Inuyasha loves Humans and cares for them so much. He then says it was because of Inuyashas mother that their father ended up the way he is now (Dead, obviously) He says theres bad blood running through Inuyasha and then turns to Kagome and sprays here with poison from his hand. She calls out to him, but disappears under the mess still holding the Tetsusaiga. Inuyasha screams for her, but it looks like its already too late. Inuyasha attacks Sesshoumaru, but Sesshoumaru easily catches him with his tail and sends him flying into the walls telling him that hes so weak that he cant even lay a finger on him. He then starts to whip Inuyasha and tells him how weak hanyou are and how worthless they are. Inuyasha then has a flashback of when he was a child how everyone used to shun him for being a hanyou. Child Inuyasha was playing with a ball and they kept kicking/throwing it away from him. How sad He looks like hes about 4 or 5... Anyway, he runs to his mother holding a ball and asks her What is a hanyou? His mother just starts to cry and hug him and Inuyasha reflects on how he finally understands why his mother was so sad because she worried about Inuyashas future. Inuyasha becomes angry and his strength and power increase. He attacks his brother telling him he cant forgive him and actually manages to crack his armor. Jakken is amazed (stupid frog thing) and so is Sesshoumaru. Suddenly Kagome pops out of the acid as if she werent even hit in the first place saying that she thought she was going to die. Inuyashas stunned and Sesshoumaru explains that it was the swords warding that protected her. Kagome gets daring and yells at Sessoumaru telling him that hell pay for what he did. She then comically hands the sword to Inuyasha and wishes him good luck with a smile. Sessoumaru then starts to glow and transforms into his true form, a huge dog demon! (Red eyes and all, freaky O.o) Inuyasha believes in the swords power and attacks just to have it bounce off of Sesshoumaru causing no damage what so ever. Inuyashas surprised and narrowly dodges more of Sesshoumarus attacks. Inuyasha asks Myouga whats up, but the flea has already packed and just tells him that its his fathers heirloom and to not let it go before leaving Inuyasha to fight alone. ^_^* Sesshoumaru then releases a poison from his mouth (dog breath basically) and it starts to fill the room. Inuyasha tells her to climb to higher ground and Kagome listens and starts to climb up. Jakken and Myouga are all trying to get to higher ground too. Inuyasha comments that even he wont be able to hold out for long and jumps to higher ground as hes starting to get paralyzed. Sesshoumaru bites Inuyasha between his teeth and starts to crush him before Inuyasha takes the Tetsusaiga and shoves it into Sesshoumarus eye causing him to push through the roof back outside and let Inuyasha go. Inuyasha manages to scramble to safety and Myouga reappears asking how the fight went and that he should deliver the final blow with the Tetsusaigas powers. Inuyasha tells him hes an idiot and that the sword is doing little to nothing. Myouga takes off seconds afterwards running in fear again. Kagome becomes Inuyashas cheerleader sort of and tells him that his attacks are helping. Inuyasha tells her that theyre doing nothing and she just tells him to try harder. Inuyasha says he can survive, but Kagome will probably die from this attack. Kagome looks sad and starts to cry and Inuyasha goes nuts trying to get her to stop. He tells her that hell protect her and she doesnt need to worry. Kagome doesnt believe what she just heard. Inuyasha not a prick?! No way! Suddenly, the Tetsusaiga starts to vibrate. It has a heartbeat! Kagome starts throwing skull heads at Jakken whos trying to tell Sesshoumaru to kill Inuyasha. Inuyashas sword magically transforms now from the old rusted katana to a very long fang-like sword and slices easily through Sesshoumarus front leg. He then takes a few more whacks at Sesshoumaru before Sesshmaru de-transforms and leaves (leaving Jakken behind, heeheeheheehe) Inuyasha thanks his father for the sword he left for him and Myouga returns saying he believed in his power all along. Inuyasha just gives him this oddly sweet smile. (Yes, it was freaky to watch. You never see Inuyasha smile like this again in the series.) Myouga says he was just busy securing a way back out of the portal (He has some sort of ugly bone bird with him) and Inuyasha believes him well for a second. Myouga then bows and explains that he was lying and that he feels so bad lying to someone who trusts him. Turns out he DID run away! Inuyasha gets pissed and smashes him. They return through the portal and the black pearl returns itself back into Inuyashas eye. (Which didnt happen in the manga. O_o weirdness) Back at Kaedes village, they marvel at how she was able to pull the sword from the ground when no one else could. Myouga and Kaede decide that she just has more powers than the first thought. Myouga then explains that the sword was built for Inuyasha to protect Inuyashas mother and the sword can only transform if you want to save a Humans life or care for Humans which is why Sesshoumaru cant use the sword and Inuyasha could after he promised to protect Kagome. (Which also means he was sincere about protecting Kagome awwww!) Outside Inuyasha is swinging the de-transformed piece of crap as he calls it around trying to get it to return to its fang shape. Kagome then arrives and asks him if he wants her to teach him how to use the sword in exchange for him protecting her. Inuyasha just comically asks her if shes sick in the head or something and Kagome gets pissed telling him that he promised to protect her for her whole life. Inuyasha said he never said forever and they have a short fight over that. Inuyasha says hell use the sword to help him find the shards and become a youkai. Kagome gets pissed and pushes Inuyasha on a small bridge before walking away and muttering, sit sending Inuyasha crashing through the bridge to the waters below. Inuyasha begs her to return and teach him how to use the sword, but shes already gone thinking what a big jerk he is.
